First Harvest!
It seems surreal, the seed was sowed, watered, seen it grow and I just enjoy a sandwich with the most tender and tastiest lettuce and arugula from my garden, with no pesticides or weird hormones, from an organic and heirloom seed. It sure tastes better when it comes fresh from your garden, 45 days ago i was anxious waiting for the little seedling appearing on the surface of the raised bed. Ya I know I sound way too excited! I have been going everyday to the raised beds to cut fresh baby lettuces for salads and sandwiches this week and it's so much fun. I also harvested garlic and radishes.
Other things that are growing in my garden are: squashes (more than seven different kinds), tomatoes ( black prince, roma, and champion), peppers (california wonder), hot chili peppers, habanero, bananam and anaheim peppers, zucchini, long purple eggplant, broccoli, cabbage, pok coi, watermelons (two kinds), early indiana cantaloupe, lettuce (more than five kinds), some more vegetables. And some herbs like flat italian parsley, cilantro, dill, sweet basil, genovese basil, mint, lavander, and some more.
~Mi primera CosechaVas a cosechar lo que sembras! Estoy muy contenta de realizar la primera cosecha de mi jardín o mejor dicho huerta, entre los vegetales que coseche estas: ajo, rabanitos, lechuga y rucula.~

Very nice! You have the perfect red colander! I love it!
Congratulations on your first harvest. I'm sure there will be many more with all those things you've planted.
That my dear looks very delicious! I can't wait to taste the lettuce I have in my garden because I have never tasted lettuce fresh out the garden and from what I have heard, it is the tastiest lettuce in the world! Good job on the garden and welcome to the blissfulness of growing your own food. :)
That's awesome! But whats even more awesome is that I have the same red strainer too! :)
Wow, you are deep in harvest season. Very nice looking and sounding.
Congrats on your first harvest. Those two radishes are so perfect.
Thanks everyone! The red colander/strainer is my fav. Kitchen item :)
The lettuce that comes out of your garden is the best one indeed you can't get any fresher lettuce than that one :)
I just planted lettuce but my mother already had some growing. it has been so wet but our peas, weeds, garlic and weeds are growing well. I enjoyed your blog.
Thanks! I have been harvesting radishes and lettuce everyday this week :) the weather is so nice
Quite a haul!! You are so lucky to garden in California.
I agree with you: everything tastes better if you have grown it yourself! Sounds like you have a very impressive collection of veg growing. I shall be following your blog with interest...
