Unexpected Travel

My husband is very spontaneous when it comes to vacation, he booked a hotel and there we went for a weekday getaway to relax and recharge. The place was Lake Tahoe, the Nevada side of the Lake. We stayed at this vintage style resort, part of it was built in 1862 after discovering a spring of thermal water, how do I remember the date? There is a medium size wild west fashioned restaurant, where the attention was optimum, that is named after it's foundation date: 1862.  The guest can savor authentic slices of Wild West history as well as savory food, the walls are packed with black and white pictures narrating the history of the resort. I really liked our weekday getaway, I forgot to tell that my favorite meal was the 'black and blue pizza' from the restaurant at the resort, topped with steak and blue cheese.

The main reason of our trip was to immerse in the thermal spring water pools. I must say that the weather was a bit too warm during the day but during the fresh breezy night we enjoyed soaking in the pools with temperatures that range from 80F to 108F. There is still snow on the high mountains that combined with the hot weather during the day it made our stay more interesting, it seemed surreal looking at the white peaks and lay under the hot rays of sun.
The place is undergoing some remodeling by  the new ownership, which were also offering an extra free night for couples or a restaurant gift card if you'd agree to take a resort tour. We didn't.
This is the first time I post about one of our trips, I regret not taking more detail pictures from the resort, Oh well, for next time...

What an incredibly beautiful vacation! God's creation is magnificent! I can't see mountains without thinking that! Especially since I live in an area that is so flat!
